It’s not everyday you get an Icelandic folk hero playing within these fair walls here at the Troubadour. But that’s just what we have this week with Svavar Knutur - a talented fellow who caught the attention of Charlie Mayfair. They became so enamoured with him, they simply had to have him play here in Brisbane. And with the rain not really looking like stopping anytime soon, he might feel a little more at home here in Brisbane than usual.
Elsewhere on the schedule this week, we have an EP launch from the rather mind-blowing Cairns outfit The Medics. Also, a homecoming of sorts for home-grown heroin Washington who sold out this show over two weeks ago, showing testiment to her ever-growing popularity. Saturday night along with jaffle heaven and DJ El Norto spinning some floor fillers, New Jack Rubys will begin a Late Show residency for the month of March.
So you could say it’s all happening but you probably should come and see for yourself.
