A bit of a press release….
Standing strong for seven years, The Troubadour has become somewhat of an institution in the Brisbane live music scene with bands, agents and punters quick to name-drop the venue as one of their favourites in the country.
In 2010, both the management and staff have banded together to provide not only the ultimate, cosy live environment for the keen music-lover and a muso’s night-off haven, but also are implementing a few changes to maximise on the actual performer’s playing experience overall.
With this in mind, we are proud to announce the following points:
ROOM HIRE:
The flat-rate room hire once in place will now be completely dropped for a simpler and more attractive deal. The Troubadour will now take $2.50 per head that comes through the front door, making the deal a lot more attractive for the performer, hopefully also providing an incentive to promote their shows sufficiently.
FOCUS ON THE AFTER-PARTY:
We have introduced DJ El Norto (ex-Ric’s) to the team, spinning the trash and treasure hits on the wheels of steel every Friday and Saturday night until 3am. The aim is to provide the perfect party environment for the punters who want to kick on post-gig or the socialite simply looking for somewhere happening to go.
THE LATE SHOW – 1AM RESIDENCIES AVAILABLE
For just under a year, The Late Show has been providing the only late-night live music in town and pulling the punters through the door by the dozens. Following the success of spaghetti-western, instrumental surf-heroes Los Huevos with their impressive four-week stint of Saturday night 1am slots, The Troubadour will be offering more in the coming months. The general offer is open to the bands that can bring the party each and every week for the drinking masses – apply at thetroubadour@graffiti.net
JAFFLES
A minor addition that has the streets buzzing with excitement… no one quite anticipated the squeals of glee when The Troubadour introduced jaffles only a couple of weeks ago. Well needless to say, they’re here and they’re here to stay.
